LIEBERMAN WINS, LAMONT IS THE LOSER!!!!

Joe Lieberman is victorious. Ned Lamont is a loser!!!! This was the liberal party faithful, and still Joe won over 65%.  Now we'll take this victory and Joe will slam the door on Lamont, and his one issue. Gee Matt, and Chris, how does it feel to have lost by about 35%. No contest!!!

However, we are going to have another Joseph Lieberman in conserv Dem Bob Casey who will sell his soul to the Republicans on Iraq and giving away the filibuster. We could of done better than Bob Casey.

Hahahahaha!

Yeah, I hear Lamont was gonna win tonight, but then the delegates found out he owns 2 shares of Halliburton and they said "this changes everything..."

That was an actual "blind trust", not to be confused with Frist's "blind trust." Lamont shocked the state tonight, and he will win the primary.

Lieberman is the loser (3.00 / 1)

Ok, an unknown candidate garners 33% in a machine state like CT against an 18 year incumbent who has been the VP nominee (an won, basically), and ran for POTUS in '04, and the unpopular incumbent is the winner?  Lieberman should have crushed Lamont, and a third of the delegates voted for him.

Pathetic (3.00 / 4)

This is not a good sign for Lieberman at all. Activists are going to be energized and working hard for Lamont.

At this point, I think it's up in the air. And for the first time, I really think Lamont could pull this off. It's still a long shot, but it's no longer unrealistic.

Well, Lieberman did win big, but the proverbial landscape is littered with the wreckage of supposedly srong incumbents who won just as big.

Re: LIEBERMAN WINS, LAMONT IS THE LOSER!!!! (3.00 / 1)

Nope... this was to stop NEd from getting on the ballot, and that effort failed, so Lamont won this round.  Lieberman lives is all spin.

Think "Me thinks the lady doth protest too much" and check out all the CAPS and hyperventilation.

He's losing his mind! And we're reaping all the benefits...

Re: LIEBERMAN WINS, LAMONT IS THE LOSER!!!! (3.00 / 1)

You do realizethe party establishment pulled all the stops and cashed in favors. Your shtick is hilarious. Did you see one prediction that Lamont would secure more than 50% of the delegates? So when you rub it in Matt's face, what point are you exactly making?

You do realize this was not the primary. Lamont's objective was to get at least 15%. If you followed your boy's campaign, you would have known Lieberman was trying his best to avoid a primary. For him, getting into a primary was the equivalent of a loss. So what exactly did Lieberman win last night?

Logic. Too bad it's not something you can just buy in a supermarket.

It's great to have you here. At first I was on the fence regarding Lieberman but ever since I started reading your post I'm firmly in the Lamont camp.

Keep it up. Scare away all Lieberman supporters.

(Perhaps you are a Lamont supporter in disguise?)

Re: LIEBERMAN WINS, LAMONT IS THE LOSER!!!! (3.00 / 1)

How can you, with a straight face, really support Lieberman anyway.  Its beyond me how a member of the progressive blogosphere would be actively working for a proponent of the War in Iraq and who at every turn literally kisses the president.

The point at the beginning of the Lamont candidacy wasn't so much to win anyway--it was to get through to the DINOman that he better start limiting his nauseating FOX News appearances.  The Lamont candidacy is already a winner no matter what happens from here on out.

Re: LIEBERMAN WINS, LAMONT IS THE LOSER!!!! (3.00 / 2)

The campaign just began and Lieberman has already lost a third of the Democratic vote. Cheering this "victory" is equivalent to Custer celebrating that he reached Montana safely. Let's do the math: if Lieberman continues to lose a third of his support every month between now and the August primary he will ultimately get 7.9% of the vote. Not coincidentally, liebermanlives, that is identical to the percentage of adults who still wet the bed.

If it were only as simple (none / 0)

Actually, he did attack Bush for the war in Iraq which makes his insane Lieberman boosterism even funnier. One of his common defenses is that the war is just one issue. What he has failed to answer is if the war is "just one issue", why does Lieberman cozy up to our President if they agree mainly only "on just one issue".  So his supporters can't ask his critics to give him a pass on that issue since Lieberman himself considers it more than just another issue.

What's that sound I hear?

Aaaah... it is the sound of pathetic desparation... also known as Liebermanlives.

Lieberman's goal was to achieve at least 86% last night. He lost by 20% amongst those he had his best chance of winning. Pathetic indeed.
