Lieberman remains at about 60% approval

For those of you wishing and hoping that Lieberman would take a tumble after Ned stole 33% of Ct. primary vote, guess again. According to surveyUSA, Lieberman stands at 59% approval, an INCREASE of two percent since last month, when he was at 57%. In fact Lieberman is polling better than his Ct. counterpart Chris Dodd, and Dodd isn't running for anything.

Sorry to disappoint you Lieberman haters, but these are the facts. Lieberman at 60% approval. Leads Lamont in Quinnipiac poll by 46%, (65-19%) Leads Lamont in Rasmussen poll by 27%. He wins either as a Democrat or Independent.. Spin this all you want, but Joe is still king!!!

What are his stats among potential primary voters. Once again,. you are dishonest in stating what our viewpoints are. Most of us Lieberman bashers already concede that Lieberman would probabl get the most votes in a head to head election in the main election. So what point are you trying to make?

You are dishonest because I already mentioned this to you in the past. Yet you act like all we do is assume Lieberman lost all his popularity.

In fact, a lot of us have mentioned that we will need to work hard to beat Lieberman even in the primary. All we are rejoicing is the momentum is on Lamont's side among primary voters. You still have not addressed thge mainy critcisms of Lieberman here and counter our reasoning why the war is more than just an issue.

All you are doing is endless cheerleading without offering a single new viewpoint.

Re: Lieberman remains at about 60% approval (none / 0)

Shmo-Joe and the voters of CT can do as they please. The immediate task is beat his corrupt and bushoholic ass in the Dem primary or run him out of the party. Let him follow in Zell Miller's footsteps and give a keynote speech at the next GOP convention to show everryone where he really belongs.

But then, Shmo-Joe couldn't have helped but notice that Zell got nothing in return from Bush for his imitation of Benedict Arnold.

With Democrats Lieberman goes for the jugular. With Republicans he goes for the lips.

"after Ned stole 33% of Ct. primary vote,"

You lose all credibility saying things like this.  Do you not believe in the Democratic process?  Those votes did not belong to Lieberman.  Lamont earned them.

Two things. (none / 0)

1. The SurveyUSA poll was taken before the convention, not after.

2. Leading Lamont by 27% is a drop. A big one. Last month, Lamont was at 16%. At this rate, Lieberman will be in second place in about three weeks.

Liberman: douchebag today, douchebag forever (none / 0)

Nothing changes the fact that Lieberman really, really sucks.

He's a shill for the Israel lobby.  He provides cover for Bush on the war on terror.  And he is still just a painful and dreadfully boring public speaker.

Lieberman goes on Fox News and practically begs people to bash the Democratic Party.

Yup.  Joe Lieberman is worth the effort to defend.

Joe is king? (none / 0)

This sounds way too much like the lion in the Wizard of Oz.  "I am king of the jungle, not prince, not Duke, not earl ...."

Joe, like the cowardly lion in the picture talks too much and doesn't always deliver.  The opposition, is not fellow Democrats but Republicans, Joe.

Strange think is, he's maneuvered it so that, at least now, his opponebnts are fellow Democrats and not Republicans.  Well, he's sown division among Democrats and that is what he's reaping.

Re: Lieberman remains at about 60% approval (none / 0)

Lieberman is more popular among Republicans than 21 Republican Senators:

Murkowski
McCain
Kyl
Allard
Martinez
Chambliss
Isakson
Brownback
Roberts
McConnell
Bunning
Burns
Hagel
Burr
DeWine
Voinovich
Inhofe
Coburn
Specter
Santorum
Chafee
Graham
DeMint
Cornyn

Just some food for thought.

Then maybe he should join the Republican Party and shoot up a couple dozen notches in the overall popularity rankings.

Re: Lieberman remains at about 60% approval (none / 0)

This Diary is completely pointless, since these numbers don't address primary voters.  Moreover, I'd LOVE to hear why the author loves Lieberman so much.  I'll admit lieberman is hardly Zell Miller (truly faint praise), but at best he's an Eisenhower Republican.  Seriously Liebermanlives - how could you possibly love this guy and be a Democrat?

by HSTruman on Wed May 24, 2006 at 05:41:41 PM EST

LibermanLives a true troll (none / 0)

You ever notice how he just puts a diary trashtalking but can't even finish a discussion. Sometimes he will put in a response, but will not see it all the way through because he will have to face reality. We put up some responses and he doesn't have the will to face up to them.

I think we need to have a rating for people who put up diaries. You put up a diary and can't handle a discussion, we give you a bad rating making your future diaries get downgraded by default and will need users to bump them up in case they have merit.

Ah yes, Pravin now wants to censor people. Truely Democratic there buddy.

by liebermanlives on Wed May 24, 2006 at 11:00:20 PM EST

Re: Lieberman remains at about 60% approval (none / 0)

It's not censorship. We rate and recommend diaries here all the time. It's called information management. Nowhere did I call for someone to ban your diaries. I am not even a fan of the zero rating.

I have never troll rated someone who merely disagrees with me. And I don't think I have troll rated you much , if at all, even if you deserve to be. But if you continue to offer spin without engaging in a real discussion instead of just saying "lieberman is great lalalala and cover your ears when we respond" , you are being a troll.
