Howard Dean strikes again. Fuzzy on Dem party platform

It's been a while since I've had to drag out my Howard Dean scream, but the other day, Mr. Dean reminded me, that there is still some life left in the mouth that roars.
   A couple of days ago, Dean was on the 700 Club, and the subject of gay marriage came up and Mr. Dean said the following;

"The 2004 Democratic platform says that marriage is between a man and a woman. That's what it says. I think we may take exception with some religious leaders in that we believe in inclusion, and that everybody deserves to live with respect, dignity, and equal right under the law".

Really, the 2004 Democratic platform I know doesn't say that at all. This is what it says.

Hey Lieberman haters, choke on this, Joe 65% Ned, 19%

All you Lieberman haters out there in DD land, choke on these numbers. Joe Lieberman in a heads up contest against Ned Lamont, destroys poor Neddie, 65%-19%. I guess all the slander against Lieberman just isn't working, but I'm sure you'll come up with more. Let's see the spin coming from you Lamont supports this morning.
But don't fret none. Having Joe back in the Senate for another 6 wonderful years isn't as bad as you think it might be. But for now, the smear job you guys are putting on Lieberman, just isn't working. Also, for my little friend from Missouri, I trust I made my point clear!!!

Jane Fonda will not protest Iraqi war (W/poll)

Saying that she has "too much baggage", and Cindy Sheehan would do a better job at than she would, Jane Fonda will not openly protest the Iraqi was like she did with Vietnam. Fonda made plenty of waves, and enemies way back in 1972, when she visited a North Vietnamese camp as a protest over the US involvement in that war.
In her decision, Fonda said she would be a lightning rod for all the hatred some Vietnam vets and conservatives still have for her, and she didn't want to become the face of this protest.

Check out this website, it really brings Bush's war home.

You know you're in deep doo-doo when a website by West Point graduating cadets comes out against the war in Iraq. the site has a lot of cool things on it like the lies the Bush administration told the American people to drag us into the war in the first place, the reason why the cadets are against the war. A place to sign up if you are a former cadet, who is also against the war, and some other stuff like Dwight Eisenhower's retirement speech to the cadets on January 17th, 1961.

We know there has been a growing and widening revulsion against the lies of the Bushies on the war, and this is another fine example of the war lashing back at Bush. Gee, I wonder if these fine men are considered traitors by the neo-cons of the world?

Cynthia Mc.Kinney, making no friends with Democrats

Cynthia Mc.Kinney is losing brownie points with her own party as this farce about the possible assault charges that may be brought against her, for punching a DC cop.

In fact, things have gotten so bad that House minority leader Nancy Pelosi refuses to even talk to her, and some have accused her of race baiting if she doesn't get what she wants.

A moderate House Democrat, speaking on the cloak of silence told the Hill, "There has been a lot of eyse rolling. The national attantion it's been getting, is both very unfortunate, and highly distracting".

He went on to add, "This isn't the view Democrats want to project in the tough races, one of the victims and race baiting".

Card didn't resign, Rove booted him out

How many of you out there in DD land think Andy Card resigned? For those of you who raised their hands, your wrong, Andy Card didn't resign, he was pushed out the door by the one man who has the power to do just that. No, not Bush, Karl Rove.

My brother is right on this. All this did was rearrange the chairs on the deck of the Titanic. For weeks now, top Republicans have said that a real, meaningful shakeup had to take place if Bush were to get back on track. Today's sacking of Card did nothing to promote that.

With Card out, Rove has more power. Granted he had a lot of power to begin with, but this gives him even more power to screw over America even more than he's already doing. And the incoming Josh Bolten will just be a yes man for Rove, Cheney and monkey boy anyway, without any real power to back him up.

Democrats or Republicans, does it make a difference? W/poll

I know it's early to talk about Democrats regaining control of the House, Senate, or both, but if the polls pan out, the Democrats will regain one or the other, so I think the question needs to be asked, does it make a difference on who controls Congress?? Now before you get out the butcher knives, just hear me out.
We all know that Bush has screwed things up so badly, it will take years to set things straight, but let me ask the following questions about how the Democrats might do.

1, How will Democrats deal with Iraq? Will they call for a pullout? If things don't improve significantly, can they pull out? Will they cut off funding? What about Afghanistan? Will troops stay there for an indefinite period?

Iyad Allawi, "Iraq is in a civil war".

According to the former Prime Minister, Iyad Allawi, Iraq is in civil war, and both the United states and Britain will not escape its effects. Allawi said late Saturday night Baghdad time, "It is unfortunate that we are in civil war. Each day, we lose 50-60 people, if not more throughout the country. If this is not a civil war, then God only knows what a civil war is".

Both the US and British officials strongly disagree with Allawi's statement, but admit that things are not going as well as we would like it to.

In his radio address today, Bush again pleaded for patience, and said that casualties will continue, but we are making slow but steady progress. Everyone who believes that, have another glass of kool-aid!!! Here is the full text of Allawi's statement
